{"id":1961,"date":"2015-09-18T11:04:11","date_gmt":"2015-09-18T09:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ethikos.es\/?p=1961"},"modified":"2016-11-16T16:32:19","modified_gmt":"2016-11-16T15:32:19","slug":"fewer-walls-and-more-empathy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ethikos.es\/en\/fewer-walls-and-more-empathy\/","title":{"rendered":"Fewer walls and more empathy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Everybody know what is happening in some regions of Europe with the \u201cimmigration problem\u201d (as they call it). I, as much as I think, I can only get to see PEOPLE; people looking for a better future, people taking care of their families, people trying to fight those who think that the best way to stop them is to build a wall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Without wishing to compare something so hard with our everyday relationships, that situation makes me wonder why some insist on building walls around them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every day we face walls, both in our personal and work life. WE lift them to protect us, because we are afraid to get hurt\u2026 we are wrapped in them everywhere. In my humble opinion, it is these same walls build around us that disconnect us from others, the world and even ourselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What is the way to tear down these walls?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">EMPATHY, not as a development action, area for improvement or recurring phrase. <strong>Empathy as a feeling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For several years my admiration was always for those who analyze any situation getting into the other person shoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unfortunately, many of the strategic management models in organizations are still focused on FEAR.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What do you think would happen if we focused on empathy?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What do you think would happen if we learnt how to know down walls to start seeing people?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Martin Luther King said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fish; but we have not yeat learned the simple art of living together as brothers.<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everybody know what is happening in some regions of Europe with the \u201cimmigration problem\u201d (as they call it).
